Volunteer

On this page, you'll find all you need to know about our volunteer process. You're only 3 steps away!

1. Pick an Area

Are you eager to get involved but unsure where to begin? Start by asking yourself a few questions: What are your strengths? What brings you joy? Are you an introvert or an extrovert? Do you enjoy working with people, or are you more task-oriented? Is there an area where you’d like to grow? Reflecting on these can help you find a meaningful place to serve.

You can view our variety of volunteer opportunities on the application form in step 2. If you need guidance or have questions, our Volunteer Coordinator would be happy to help you find the best fit!

2. Volunteer Application

We deeply value the safety and security of everyone in our church family, especially our children and vulnerable adults. To help create a secure and welcoming environment, all volunteers are required to complete Abuse Prevention Training (APT), which outlines your role in safeguarding our community.

After submitting your application, please be patient. Once it’s reviewed, we’ll reach out with your next steps, including a link to the online Abuse Prevention Training (APT), which will be sent directly to your inbox.

3. Background Check

To volunteer at First Baptist, you must be actively attending our church. Some ministries may also require church membership to serve. Additionally, certain roles may require a background check, and if this applies to your position, you’ll receive an email with instructions to complete it. Once your background check is processed and approved, the ministry leader will reach out with final steps to join the team. Thank you for your commitment to serving our church family!
