Ministries

First Baptist Church has many ministries of outreach to the community.  We try to reach all kinds of people for Christ.  Most of the people that we reach in these ministries are people who would not otherwise be able to know about Jesus.

These different ministries give the members of the church opportunities to serve in their local church.  Many families serve together in a ministry.

Bus Ministry

The bus ministry allows many children and teenagers to attend the services of First Baptist Church.  We currently serve Plattsmouth, Beaver Lake, and Bellevue with a bus route.  We will pick up any kid who has a heart to attend church and know more about God.  Countless lives have been changed through the bus ministry.

Hundreds of children, adults, and families have been influenced through the bus ministry.  For many of these kids, coming to First Baptist Church and feeling the love of Christ is the highlight of their week.  This ministry is staffed by dozens of volunteer Christians who love people.

Nursing Home Ministry

On Sunday afternoons, the church goes into 5 different nursing homes to conduct a service just for these precious people.  We know the people living in these homes are not able to attend church services like anybody else.  We feel honored to take our ministry to these wonderful people.  This allows them to have a church service where they are.

 Jail Ministry

We believe that God is a God of second chances.  We hold services in the local jail to tell all the men and women there that God loves them and has a wonderful plan for their lives.  Through God's love and grace, many lives can be changed and used for His glory.

Outreach Ministry

The Bible says in Luke 14:23, "And the Lord said unto His servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled." We believe it is our resposibility as God's servants to go out and compel people to come into God's house.  With that purpose in mind, we meet every other Thursday night for the sole purpose of reaching the community for Christ.
